As for women ...well, I know the first one doesn't apply from experience. Everyone of my past girlfriends, apart from one, has had her best friend hit on me on the side in secret (never accepted though). I've always found that weird, because I would NEVER in my wildest dreams think that way about any of my friends' spouses/wives/girlfriends.
Anyways, this guy deserved a beating (I don't know about the car part, because now it will have to be paid for ....but if the guy whose car was destroyed was a real guy, he should just suck it up and not press charges. Sometimes one should take deserved punishment and call it a day).
Reminds me of a case where some Bulgarian friends of mine who were studying in the US got caught by (the then) INS (now ICE) because they were working in excess of the hours allotted for them as international students. Well, they get nabbed, and the first thing they do is sell-out a fellow Bulgarian friend of theirs, who had actually left the US to go visit family in Bulgaria. He was also working with them, but had not been caught. They sold him out, even though by doing that they never got any benefit, did not get any leeway from the authorities, and even worse had not even been asked if they knew anyone else.
Anyways, I made sure word got around to the other Bulgarian people (I am not Bulgarian, but I used to hang around with a lot of E.European types), and when those guys got out we 'talked' to them.
Yeah, I know they were working illegally, but it was only 5 hours above their allotted time (they had a 'needy student' work permit), and they never had to sell out the guy. Most importantly, he was their friend and was out of the country due to pressing needs.
