My friends,
If John McCain wins this election (and I pray he does), do you think he will have learned any lasting lessons about, oh, say the media, campaign finance regulations, reaching across the aisle....?
Just wondering.
A win will tell him ... he was right and much of what has occurred will be forgotten..
I submit as support, Bush's continued reaching across the aisle to get along with his House and Senate.
Recently I have watched the PBS series (American Experience)on the former Presidents. In several of them ... there were comments IE ... Johnson was not doing his job in the Senate by’ not fighting his enemies’(republicans.
It was interesting that this is their mind set ... Republicans are our enemies. We keep trying to make friends of them. They are not our friends. Politically. Never.
Somehow we do not get this. Many concessions are made by republicans in an attempt to make consensus. They (democrats) do not give an inch. Ever notice that?
Is it okay if we talk about this in about a week from today?
I have caught parts of two of those: Carter and Johnson. I was amazed at how pathetic both of them came off.

I’m hoping the good Senator has been shocked into reality about the media, and his so-called friends on the other side of the aisle. It’s one thing to attack him, but they’ve gone after his wife, his running mate, and his supporters.
Probably not and his advisors have also learned nothing.
The same way Clinton did. He fires them on his first day.
