Which was the basis for a pretty good movie, "Swing Heil!"
Ah but they co-opted the rhythms to push propaganda to our troops:

“Swing and jazz music was ?unerwunschte musik? (undesirable music) for the Nazis who worked hard to suppress this music during World War II, while using it at the same time for propaganda purposes on the airwaves. This is the story of the battle they lost against this irrepressible music. 95 tracks are included in this 4 CD set which comes with a 60 page booklet crammed with information about this fascinating period. THIS CD SET IS NOW IN SHORT SUPPLY AND WILL BE DISCONTINUED WHEN CURRENT STOCK HAS BEEN EXHAUSTED.”
PS Proper has a lot of boxed sets on rock and roll, texas swing, jazz, swing, and now they are getting heavy into bebop jazz collections.
Sound quality is alright for the price ($5 for a single CD through Half Price Books and other retailers, $18 for a 4 CD boxed set). Some of the audio appears subpar to me. But on the whole, they are a decent bargain.
