Remington 1903, made in 1941 using Rock Island tooling in mothballs since 1919. It has the stamped trigger guard and follower, the first steps Remington took in production shortcuts before the final package was "blessed" as the M1903A3. I also have a M1905 loooong bayonet also dated 1941.

It can still do the job, but the ladder sight is not too friendly to my eyes.

I love my Remington 1903. It is obscenely accurate. Even with those iron sights and these dimming eyes, it loves a 200 yard paper target, anything less is too easy.

I wouldn't either. Are you going to leave it as is or re-chamber/re-barrel, .303 ain't the most available ammo last I looked. Really nice rifle!
