The most important things that come to my mind is booze for trading stock and medicinal uses.
Very large needles and regular and strong thread, dental floss is excellent, use it to repair tents, coats, and shoes.
Coffee and a boiling pot for water, without coffee you may experience headaches, as withdrawal symptoms.
Peroxide and alcohol will treat most wounds.
Salt.
And I want silverware.
Once, for a week we camped in the hills with one pocket knife and 4 people.
The 2 ‘men’, did not like the way I had packed the car, so they rearranged it and left the basket of dishes and silverware out of the car, sitting in the driveway.
Bill could open a can with his knife and we cut cardboard for spoons, survived, but you won’t hear about how gracious and non complaining I was.
Something to keep the kids quiet.
People forget, that when it get real rough, a crying baby or child can mean the death of many, as it will expose the hiding places.
There are some people who train their children for this type of incident.
Simply move in the back yard for a few days and no electric, tv or other modern inventions allowed.
It will give you an idea of what you need.
