Locked on ... Sabre jet had UFO in sights
RAF controllers told US pilot Milton Torres to lock on and launch all 24 of his rockets over the city.
Tale ... Milton Torres as a young man, and today
But as he came within seconds of firing at the alien intruder the size of an aircraft carrier on his radar it vanished at 10,000mph.
The amazing close encounter is revealed in secret Ministry of Defence X-Files which are declassified today.
Milton said: It was some kind of alien snooping over England. I guess well never know what it was.
The incident happened in 1957 when Milton was a 26-year-old US Air Force lieutenant based at RAF Manston in Kent.
At 11pm one night he was ordered to scramble in his F-86D Sabre fighter to attack a bogey hovering above Norfolk.
Speaking about it publicly for the first time, he said: I was told I would be firing a complete salvo, all 24 rockets. I was pumped up this was the sort of thing that happened before a war.
He got the UFO on his radar and closed for the attack at the Sabres top speed of almost 700mph then it disappeared off his screen in a flash.
Milton, now 77, said: I was smoking, as fast as I could go. This thing had a different propulsion system. It was not an airplane.
The flyer said he was visited afterwards by a sinister security official and warned not to tell anyone so he kept silent until now.
The close encounter is in 19 files made available online yesterday by the National Archives.
A number of folks have pinged me on this. I was actually unaware of the “D” model, and had only kept track of the fighter/attack versions.
My post #30 points to this info as well.
Ya always get educated fast on FR ;-)
thx
None of the above, but you knew that before you replied.
Evidence defeats disbelief; with said disbelief underpinned by pre-existing experiences and prejudices.
When my dad sortied off the hot deck, it was always a two-ship flight — in part to make CERTAIN vis-ID was performed and credible. I found it odd that the ROE across the pond would send up AN aircraft to investigate an aircraft-carrier-sized radar return.
I happen to have been under-informed about the “D” model, but FR is good about erasing ignorance when it comes to verifiable facts.
I am not saying it could not have happened, I am just saying I personally doubt this is a report of an extraterrestrial ship.
Do I believe there’s UFOs? absolutely. I see them when I fly. They are out of visual range and not squawking ... so to me they are UFOs ;-p
Lighten up Francis.
Rgr. A 7+ lb warhead. I was corrected and educated earlier. See post #30. thx.
I was not aware of a D model; only the fighter/attack models.
I’m fighting a cold.
I’m more and more burned out on ignorant naysayers.
They hardly deserve any response, much less the proof they demand.
Leave them ignorant. Watching them cope with the consequence of that ignorance, that willful blindness should be interesting.
Most are uninfluencable regardless of the quality of evidence anyway. I’m not into exercises THAT futile.
You instead express glee at the idea of imaginary space monsters attacking Earth.
= = =
That’s a LIE on all counts and points.
However, enjoy the delusions.
Sorry to hear about your cold, and I hope you feel better soon. Garlic seems to help me out when I’m sick, about a spoonful of it in minced form. That and Zicam.
Thanks much.
Sincerely appreciate your caring.
I’m a strong believer in both Zicam and garlic.
From what I’ve read, the garlic has antimicrobial properties and the Zicam cuts about a day off of the duration. I have been curious if garlic powder works in the same way. I prefer powder over minced, but I doubt it is as effective.
I suspect you’re quite right about the garlic modes.
Zicam normally prevents if taken at first hint.
Knocked it out of the nose but somehow is threatening the bronchi.
Ah wellll, better than I thought I’d be when I went to bed last night.
Praise God for that.
Heading off to the college shortly.
Thanks for your kindness.
Blessings,
“Interesting but several years before this incident my father a fighter pilot serving in Korea had an encounter with UFO over Korea, unknown type craft, same incredible speed (nothing known in technology at the time) when it disappeared....”
In 1952 when I was in high school at lunch one day there was a “flying saucer” I would guess at about 15k ft. with jets after it.
I watched it for about 10 minutes until the end of lunch bell rang and had to return to class.
The 2 jets would come at from 2 sides and before they got close it would shoot away probably a quarter mile at least 10 times the speed of the fighters and just hover there.
The jets would turn and go at it again with the same result every time.
They probably did this a dozen times before I had to go back to class.
I never made a big deal out of it, just thought it was interesting.
“Do a little research. Would you be surprised to learn that UFOs were spotted over the White House in 1957?”
I am not at all surprised. Maybe you would be surprised that
“UFO” does not mean ET is here. UFO means Unidentified Flying Object. That is all, and it may have nothing to do with man or ET.
I will believe in ET when I see proof. There has been zero proof or evidence of ET. There is nothing but anecdotal reports for over 50 years.
“Do a little research. Would you be surprised to learn that UFOs were spotted over the White House in 1957?”
Hhaha, I was wondering if someone else noticed the obvious on
that photo... A simple kitchen whisk. That was the first thing that came to mind when I saw that pic on the internet.
The problem is that there are so many people that want to believe in ET, they just cant help getting carried away with everything they see.. The same is true of the thousands of daily contrails being viewed as evil chemtrails.
There are 100’s of reports of such cat and mouse sorts of games.
Fascinating.
Thanks for sharing your personal experience.
Those with personal experience need never feel at the mercy of clueless idiots with irrational arguments or any other kind of argument.
There is nothing but anecdotal reports for over 50 years.

No longer true, if it’s ever been true.
Certainly the last 10 or so years all kinds of stuff has floated to the surface.
A good chunk of it very tangible stuff.
The thing that relly got my attention was that it was in the middle of the day and my being on the ground watching with 2 fighter pilots trying to intersept it from different angles it couldn’t have been an optical illusion.
I really thought it possible the military was testing some new super secret flying machine.
In the 80s people wers talking about the Arura and most people laughed at them but I had just taken off from Mojave airport one day and this black “dart” shaped aircrft came screaming out of Edwards at I estimate to be at least 5.000k that matched the description of what the Aruara was supposed to be.
Even the Aurora is probably archaic and a smoke screen.
I used to take reports that the Nazi’s had a working UFO before the end of WWII with a 1/10th of a grain of salt.
Not so sure any more.
I am very confident that we have our own fleet of UFO’s.
And that critters not normally considered of this world have taught our shadow gov globalist folks how to build at least a variety or 3.
But there’s lots of smoke and mirrors and unknowns and mysteries and disinformation and . . .
Lots of things have occurred in the middle of the day . . . with even some credible photos now and then.
However ridicule is a very effective countermeasure.
There is no mention of visual contact, all 1957 radar detections.
There was something there for sure, and it certainly spoofed both ground and airborne radars, without visual contact.
