Why has Palin appeared on 'SNL' but not on political TV news talk shows?

The owner of a blog titled DC Radio & Television (a leftist-leaning blog) posted the following blurb today:

"Rant - 10/19 - Pardon me for delving into the political arena, but it's that time of the year and my concern is media-related. Agree or disagree with Sarah Palin, the reality is that if McCain, 72 and a cancer survivor, wins, there's a real chance that she could be required to take over the presidential duties in some form in the next four years. And, yet, during the campaign she had not appeared on any of the four major Sunday morning DC talk shows. Not "Meet The Press." Not "Face The Nation." Not "Fox News Sunday." And not "This Week." Yet she found the time to appear on the latest edition of a comedy show - "Saturday Night Live." I make no secret that I'm voting for Obama because I feel he'd make a better president than McCain would. However, I feel that McCain is qualified to be president, too. But the prospect of Palin running this country really scares me. And, what's even scarier is that her "political handlers" obviously agree with me by not letting her face the customary grillings from Brokaw, Schieffer, Wallace, and Stephanopoulos. If she's so afraid of the nasty American press, how's she going to handle real threats from the real bad guys like Iran, North Korea, and Al Qaeda? Whoa."

Get back to me when Obama answers any questions without having the questioner interrogated by the MSM (his campaign headquarters).

And by the comments I see here, anyone asking that question is then deemed a “leftist”? Seems like a convenient way to demonize all who question Gov. Palin. She may be our president, we have an obligation to ask questions, and she to answer them.

When Obama answers those type questions get back to us. Palin is running for the number 2 spot, not the number 1 spot.

She was great on SNL, and I enjoyed seeing Alec Baldwin treating her so nicely, too!

He's acted with quite a few of the world's most beautiful women. He's not blind, and she is not some Hollywood fake but a real woman.

Alec knows what it's like to have the press go after you. Maybe he had some sympathy for her.

Could the answer be that Palin doesn't go to these talk shows because they are leftist liberal scum?

Or is it because they ask hard questions like explain the Bush doctrine or what sources do you read for your news or name a Supreme Court case other than Roe v. Wade?

I think Sarah should go on Leno to follow up on her success on SNL.

Leno wouldn't know what to do with himself other than to just sit there and stare. Hopefully he has some shame left with the potshots he's taken at her for ratings. He owes her a public apology.

If Obama or Biden were treated half as bad as Sarah's been, this donkey of a writer wouldn't be asking these questions--he'd be loaded for bear and out for blood.

I know where this is going: they are out of ammunition, and they want Sarah to provide some. She ain't playing.

I gather that Sarah and the McCain/Palin campaign have weighed having Sarah go on SNL with Josh Brolin (coming off his tour de farce role in Ollie Stone’s “W.”), Alec Baldwin (enough said), and a cast and writing staff of snarky leftists, against having her go on with any of the Sunday morning panels...and came to the conclusion that she’d get a fairer shake on SNL.
