An open letter to the Elitist Republican Establishment:
Self | 10-19-2008 | Captain Peter Blood

An open letter to the Elitist Republican Establishment:

I and millions of other Conservative Republicans cannot believe what we read and hear from so called Republican Leaders and Pundits on Governor Sarah Palin.

It is bad enough that the venomous Left-Wing Liberals and extremists of the Democratic Party along with their minions in the Main Stream Media denigrate Governor Palin with the most hideous lies.

It is quite another when so called Conservative Republicans now join in and do their best at not only trying to bring Governor Palin down but Senator McCain and his campaign. The defeatist mentality at this stage of the campaign game is almost unbelievable.

I have watched pundits I once admired like Peggy Noonan, David Brooks, Christopher Buckley, Etc. not only criticize Governor Palin but join in with the Left Wing Liberals and freely denigrate her, her family, her friends and the Great State of Alaska.

I have come to the conclusion that all of you have taken leave of your senses and become that which you yourselves at one time despised.

Whether you live in New York City or Washington D.C. you have now acquired that disconnect from the real world living in that rarified bubble of Elitist Liberal Snobbery where the pungent odor of Mendacity permeates. You have become, from the people you are associating with, in point of fact Liberal RINO’S or worse.

You left the Great Principles of Conservatism behind and sold out for money, fame, and, yes, a great deal of “Narcissism”.

Governor Sarah Palin ,who was only eight weeks ago a political unknown, until Senator John McCain brought her into the National Political limelight , is the great Breath of Fresh Air this party has needed for quite sometime.

She is the genuine article and it shows with her breezy, informal can do attitude. She wants to fight the good fight and instead of helping her all the Republican Establishment does is imitate it’s Liberal counterparts, put her down, ridicule her, and dismiss her without any semblance of civility.

I, like millions of other Conservatives, have watched, listened to her and have been totally captivated by this young Governor of great accomplishment. Senator Obama by comparison has done nothing in his life to ready himself to be President but he gets a pass on the basics from the Main Stream Media and Governor Palin gets the proverbial “shaft”.

Is it because she is a woman, has a great family, a loving and supportive husband, is Pro-Life, and embodies the Conservative Principles millions of us try to live by?

I have been absolutely amazed by the attacks on Governor Palin by the so called Feminists. Just what is it these women want in a female candidate? Of course I can answer that question partially by saying they want a very Left-Wing Liberal woman ,much like Hillary Clinton ,that espouses every Left-Wing Socialist policy out there including abortion on demand at any stage of a pregnancy.

The real question, which I don’t have an answer for is why so many of our female Republican leaders and pundits thoroughly dislike and even openly despise Governor Palin. Isn’t she the kind of Role Model we are looking for on the National Stage? Or is it a little more base than that and they just hate her looks and accomplishments?

I think Senator McCain made an inspired choice, and my only criticism is that I think he should let Governor Palin be herself. Take the Damn gloves off and really let her loose. This is a woman who took on a corrupt Republican Establishment in her home state and won the Governorship against great odds. Sarah Palin can help win this election.

I don’t know what the pundits are seeing but I see a woman who is getting some of the biggest campaign rally crowds since Ronald Reagan was running 30 years ago. There are millions of people that want to see and hear her. She has gone a long way toward energizing a Conservative base that was, frankly, not very Pro-McCain.

The thing that really bothers me is that instead of helping Governor Palin make the transition to the National Stage of Politics, giving her the advice and help she needs, even the Republican Establishment is heaping criticism and ridicule at their own candidate.

Well I got news for the so called Elitist Republican Snob Establishment there are a lot of people like me out here in the real world and we are voting not necessarily for John McCain but for the future of the Conservative Movement, and that is Sarah Palin.

Years ago there was the B- grade movie actor that had no real political experience but he had ideas and a dream he could make a difference. The Republican Establishment wasn’t interested in him and it was an uphill fight but he won a race for Governor. That guy was Ronald Reagan. Would a Ronald Reagan today starting out like Sarah Palin be treated like she has been? I think the answer is a resounding yes. So my advice to Governor Palin is to ignore the critics and go full speed ahead.

If John McCain wins on November 4th it won’t be because he articulated and ran a great campaign; it will be because Governor Sarah Palin made the difference.

This guy is voting for the Future and the Future is Governor Sarah Palin!!!!!

KEYWORDS: liberalsnobs; palin; republicans
The Republican Establishment has a huge disconnect with real Conservative voters and I cannot believe the attacks I coninue to see upon Governor Sarah Palin from those in power and in media.

Peggy and company want to stay in good standing with the Washington elite, and the New York literati. They like their cocktail parties and status more than they do what is right. It’s especially sad that these people are turning their backs on core conservative principals when our country is about to elect the most leftist candidate for POTUS in our history.

Pray for McCain/Palin, our troops, and for the entire USA.

Great Letter Dude! You are right on, its funny how the establishment gets little heat and they crumble and back stab! You need to send that out to some of idiots who don't think Palin is qualified. She has stepped up and keeps getting put down not only by the left by the right too! Thank God for Rush, Laura and Sean! This thing is not over we got to pull together!

Whether McCain wins or loses it is time for a real conservative party to emerge in this country. If it has to begin in one state and grow state by state then so be it. Let the David Brooks, George Wills, and Peggy Noonans languish in the Republican Party and be liberal media whores. We conservatives have got to move on...

You once admired Peggy Noonan? Well - maybe that was partly your fault. She helped Reagan sell out conservativism in the 1980s - pretending far left domestic policy to be grounded in conservative principles.

I once admired what I considered to be good columns and from what I perceived to be someone with Conservative Credentials.
At this point Peggy is living off the past and has been from her association with Ronald Reagan. Reagan was one guy and he fought the good fight. Hindsight on some things is 20/20 but in the Big Picture of things Reagan did a great job and was an outstanding president.
We are where we are now and the great opportunity that was George Bush's with a Republican Congress were blown. It was a once in hundred year time that may not ever come again and Bush blew it. For that one shining moment we could practiced what we had been preaching, smaller government, less taxes, etc. and it didn't get done.
What else is there to say???????????????

Great post. And the movie from which you get your screen name is awesome. Have you seen Errol and Olivia in “Robin Hood”?

The only reason Noonan is not officially a Democrat is that MSNBC pays her to be its token (illusory, to be more precise) Republican.
One could think of her as MSNBC’s “scarecrow”- implanted by the network to provide a semblance of Republican presence.
Come to think of it, all the “Republicans” MSNBC hires are “scarecrows”.

Well stated. In the post-November 5th world, it’s time for conservatives to take back the media seats awarded to the RINOs. The RINOs speak as if there will be no competition for their livelihood they’ve sucked dry. Well, I hate to be the one to break it to them - but they’re not the only ones with college degrees and connections.

If David Brooks is the bulwark of the Republican party God help us. Or rather, God help them. I say its high time for a good old fashioned schism. The North Eastern elites can have the Republican Party back, we'll keep the conservatism. Thank you very much.

You can bet that these Country Club Republicans (aka RINOs) are working hard to defeat the McCain/Palin ticket. That is one big factor in why the polls are so tight with 0bama slightly ahead. They don't really like McCain but they thought he might be lefty enough for them. Then he picked Palin and they saw their hold on the GOP evaporating with a groundswell of conservative support.

You nailed it when you called them elitists. That explains it all.

Good letter, you put into words what a many Conservative is thinking and feeling these days. I believe that if Republicans are ever going to regain some of its former power and status the party will have to get a grip and a develop a backbone and start purging its ranks of the likes of the RINO's who have brought the Party of Reagan to its knees today.

At the top of this is the current standard bearer of the current failed RINO infested Republican Party, Juan McCain. Perhaps Governor Palin will be at the forefront of rebuilding the Republican Party for the future.
