Powell certainly has revealed his character over the lst couple of years. First, he knew but did not tell his boss, the President, who leaked the Valarie Plame story. Now, he endorses a fellow-traveller but says, this is not about race - this type of pre-stipulation always means it is about what is denied.
Exactly. Listen to him try to spin his way into another good reason to endorse Obama. It's completely illogical.
Powell: "Obama has a definitive way of doing business that will do us well."
I agree. It might takes years, but in the end, they'll be disappointed for voting for Obama. Unless they want handouts....

In a normal election, Powell’s announcement would have no impact on the media drive behind JTP, but even local news is promoting this as “the nail” in the McCain campaign.
McCain’s track record proves though - he and Davis aren’t marathoners — they’re sprinters.
this is the key.....Powell’s own racial crap trumps a longstanding chumminess with Mccain who was always a porponent of Colin’s career.

I was taken to task on this site when I opposed voting for GW in his 1st election. I pointed out just who this Powell guy really is. These are the types that GW runs with & kept in unelected offices & you see why we are in the problems that lost this election to a foreigner - someone that can't produce a valid birth certificate.
One word for Powell - Judas!
Did you just now figure that out? How about a strong republican like former senator J.C. Watts, who as a couple weeks ago didn't know whom he was voting for. Don't tell me that the whole black crowd aren't racists.
Good ol’ Spastic Colin, who would have retired a full bird colonel if his, uh, appearance was different, has always been a snake. I respect his service in Vietnam, but that’s about it. I’ve never been a fan of his, and when he was being talked about for President, I cringed.
If there is any good side to all this, I think a lot of folks who didn’t have their eyes open before, have had them opened wide this past year. Once they start acting/reacting differently as a result, some other folks aren’t going to like it. It’s easy to have a “revolution” when only one side is fighting.
Am I the only one who noticed the illegitimate stab at Michelle Bachmann in your video? Bachmann didn’t say that Congressional members were un-American. Powell is sound-bite grabbing, his centrist views and inclination to lean towards race has left him in the same non-discerning mindset of many Americans living in this propaganda bubble.

Blacks have never been a mystery to me but I can remember better times, back when even though there were serious problems there was more respect and warmth and decency and less hatred.
Most blacks today never experienced any of the racial stuff of lore yet they are meaner and angrier and more racist in their response.
I lived it....right at ground zero of it all. It's worse now...much worse.
There is institutionalized black hatred of whites all over the world.
This election is partly seen as the ebbtide of white political power in America. Something whose death cannot come quick enough for many folks of color...including latinos too.
I have told here over and over that when push comes to shove all over the world that folks line up on commonality of race, ethnicity , religion and heritage and geography.
For white Americans to be so naive as to always believe otherwise is just plain silly, weak and self destructive. Our founders were under no such illusions.
That's not to say that inclusion is not laudable but not at the price of one's own self destruction.
Folks just need to open their eyes and grow a pair.

After slamming Palin, it is very curious that he would single out yet another rising female GOP star and mischaracterize what she said.
Quite frankly, it's because conservative women scare the h*ll out of any liberal. Liberals are supposed to be the party of women, blacks, hispanics - any minority. Where they and only they can spin their nonsense of "saving" us from the evil white men in this world who want to take away our equality. Conservative women in positions of power trump them at their self-created PR game by exposing the hypocrisy of ever attempting to protect ALL women - while all along their intent was only to protect liberal women.
