Now you've gone & done it. No theme, just a little of this, a little of that:

No good vid, just the tune. Looked for it for ages, cuz the ex got custody of most of the tunes in the divorce:
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=SLLpkJVDMN0

Nother oldy but goody, again no vid
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=6XGjHWsH1aI&feature=related

Heard this on the car radio a couple of times years ago, never caught the name of the artist. Searched for years & finally found it on youtube:

A plug for some locals

Nother, different local group, different sound

Couldn't make up my mind which song I preferred, same group as the last one

My oldest son & his band used to practice in my basement & their cover of this song was better than the original IMO.

In the spirit of the tunes you shared

My mom taught me a song about cannibals when I was a child. I can no longer remember all of the words to it, just smatterings

His name was Hokey pokey wicki wam poky pinkus ??? ??? tamsey wamsey wirey rum, he was the king of the cannibal island.

Course, the tune wasn’t as catchy as the one you shared.

Life’s soundtrack needs varity, different music for different moods. That was only a tiny little taste. Told you I can be gone for hours on youtube at the drop of a hat.

Love the Doors! Here’s my counter:

Oh & I was going to counter “Beasty” with “Broadsword”, but I got lost in youtubetime & you brought it up yourself before I got back to you.

It’s been years since I’ve gone to a concert, but the last time that I did, it was Tull and...

(no vid for this song either, grumble, grumble)

I’m countering King Crimson’s magnificence with a surpringly beautiful song from the otherwise heavy metal Pantera.

“Planet Caravan”

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=nVvoEYBFJpc

Or the original by Black Sabbath, if you prefer.

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=h3sd9ivoU3g

Both beautiful...haunting...melancholic.

I saw Tull at Merriweather Post Pavilion with ELP and again with Procul Harum.

I bought the Pantera CD for that song! Hated the rest of the CD & I was actually in a heavy metal phase at the time. I had a Black Sabbath album in high school, but not the one with Planet Caravan. I prefer Pantera’s rendition & agree, haunting.

Same time frame (if memory serves), different sound:

Now for something that was very obscure:
