A woman has the right to choose. Isnt that what everyone (especially the media) has been screaming for years? Well, I believe that, to an extent. A woman has the right to choose many things. A woman can choose what she wants to wear, what she wants to eat, where she wants to shop, what she wants to carry, and various other things. Yes, you read that correctly, the right to keep and bear arms does not just apply to men.
Unfortunately, many women dont see it that way. Many women look at guns as scary weapons, instead of a great means of self-defense. Instead of choosing the right to arm themselves, women take useless self-defense classes. I am a strong believer that self-defense classes often cause more harm than good. They give women a false sense of security. I know, this firsthand because I took a self-defense class one semester of college. Every night after getting out of class I would think to myself I dare any rapist to try to mess with me. All that changed though when I decided to practice some of my moves on my husband (then boyfriend). Although he is a bit on the smaller side, it amazed me at how easily he overpowered me.

Nice.....thanks for the post
I really need to get my license here in TX so I can chose the gun I want to carry.....
NRA Girl here!
FR Gun Club, Great picture of our next VP ping list!!
Ping
Ping!
Growing up around hunters and guns all of my life. In my earliest memories of my mother holding her gun and shot her first Elk. She was beaming with pride!!! She is a very smart lady and a former teacher at high school. It a woman power to have that feel of owning a gun in her hands. Love it!!!
(NoCoGOP’s wife message)
WOOHOO! The REAL meaning of RIGHT TO CHOOSE!!
I pack a Glock 9mm. I used to live in Hyde Park in Chicago and was held at gunpoint at the old Co-Op. Of course, I didn’t have a weapon then. NEVER AGAIN. I was robbed - thank God - it could have been worse.
bump and ping
Are you a Former NOBAMA person? Hyde Park and all??
NO WAY. I lived there in ‘91-’92 and I have ALWAYS been a Republican. My first vote was cast for Gerald R. Ford. Obama makes me sick to my stomach. He’s even worse than Carter. I never thought that would be possible.
I choose to carry a Python .357 snub nose and have done so for 15 years now. Have a beautiful gun purse which is guaranteed by the company not only for quality, but if I should ever have to place my hand in there and fire the end of the purse out, they will replace it for free. I feel so ahead of the times for just a moment!
Unfortunately, a few men don't see it that way, either. Some men seem to see it as their job to discourage women from carrying.
On the plus side, a full quarter of the people in the NRA class I took over the summer were women, from early 20's through probably mid-70's. The teachers (both men) could not have been more positive, and they were very encouraging that this is something women can and should do.
Every 2 years I have to take a 4 hour class to renew my ccw. Classes are usually about 30 people and at least a 3rd are women.
Girly?
Or a little more macho?
