Wow. It’s that serious. Maybe we should start talking about phoning each other then.

Just my opinion, btu we're on a collision course with race based communism if he wins.

I don’t think we want to be landlocked with Obama’s USA.

And we want a place with natural resources and a chance for a strong economy.

We will also need a stong military, so get your friends to come, too.

My type of person!

I have planned and made redundencies for water, power, cooking, medicine, food, and such a hobby over many years. I studied plants for years and know which can be used as fever and pain reducers, planted those plants used for lung congestion, those that can be used for lowering blood pressure and even for diabetes in a pinch. Those plants are now mature.

My familiy has always wondered at my choice of hobbies, but hey, I’m prepared! We can also forage.

“and mass civil unrest ensues”

That’s the fallacy in your planning. Mass civil unrest will not ensue. Who’s going to cause the unrest?

I am not convinced McCain will lose but who would want the job while America is full of this attitude of ingratitude. Screw em. Already bought my gun and ammo but all I need to do is wait four years. We have the internet and the love for their false God will soon lose its luster. As much as I don't want Obama, America deserves this socialist with no experience. In a democratic republic eventually you will get the leader you deserve.......if half of this country is as leftist as it seems, they deserve what will happen.

Scarp, I didn’t mean to piss you off. Was just trying to make a joke. BTW, a gaffer is as you say related to the movie industry, sometimes erstwhile electricians - it also means “old fart”. Since I happen to be a little of both (that plus the fact that ‘gaffer’ can easily be typed with one hand), it was a logical choice...... again, no offense intended.

Alaska is truly our last frontier - and safe in Sarah’s hands. If I were younger I’d consider moving there.

As it is I’m safely in a very conservative area that will vote strongly for McCain-Palin. Still, I’ve been preparing for trouble ever since Y2K and one of these days - maybe soon - my preparations may pay off.

“Not too many opportunities for landscaping in AK. HA”

Green houses. The only thing you’ll need to study is how to heat them efficiently and with what.

I met up with a guy in Alaska. When he moved up there with his wife and two young kids (4 to 8 years old) they lived in a tent. Lived off all of the canned stuff he had made when he left the lower 48. (Home canned ground meat - yummmmm!)

He worked odd jobs but nothing solid. After spending the summer trying to find full time work he was set to go back. (Two fall snowstorms - still living in the tent with his family had diminished their spirits). The day before he was going to pack up and leave a guy at one of his part-time jobs got hurt and they put him on full time. That was 15 years ago and he’s still at the place.

Anyway - a story like that, full of courage, hardship, toughing it out, hard work and “luck” (or Divine Intervention) really impressed me. And I will not forget it.

Do not take your eye of the ball.

This is no time to waste time.

I am a private pilot, I run through all kinds of worst case scenario training just in case. And a lot of training is to keep from getting into a worse case scenario in the first place!

So fight folks fight!

Do that, we won't need a survivors guide.
We will need victory champagne.

I appreciate your sentiment. I’ve donated money, donated time, donated ideas, written letters to the editor.

Everything I should do as a good citizen, I’ve done.

Nothing is penetrating the USS Media Teflon. No word of “his” associations or other despicable actions will ever be reported in media.

What else should I do? I have to think about my family.

“What else should I do?”

Get mad, anger is more useful then dispair.

Buck up the base.

It needs it here.

Conservatives will be fine whatever happens.
We are bad asses and deal with what life throws us well.
Optimism is our greatest weapon. Reagan knew this.
Palin surely knows this.

Aw. Please don’t take it that way, old fart electrician. I still love you, even if you type with one hand.

Wow! You won’t find that kind of courage and pioneer spirit anymore. Unless of course it is thrust upon us. Let’s pray it is not. I have a family of six so I would need a BIG tent! Haha!

I haven’t given up yet, but even the greatest generals have a contingency plan for when things go south.

There are many balls to keep our eyes on, and I am sure you are familiar with the phrase “head on a swivel”. Yes?

McCain/Palin 08!

They won’t be. It isn’t some place you want to walk in the warm weather, which is most of the time except for December, January and February. Walking here at night is just stupid because the ground crawls. No streetlights, only a single road in and out although it abuts to main roads at either end. I’m backed by a swamp and then, river and forest on the other sides.

I love it and am used to it, but I’ve lived here for decades.

I do have extra room for family and freepers if it comes to that!

that’s the bottomline: a contingency plan.

Why hope for the best when you can plan for the worst?
