I generally do not follow the whole CLB thing because so much of it is frustrating and so very very porous. I somehow found myself reading this article about the CLB because it seems to be different from the others. I verified that the clause cited above (from the article posted at http://texasdarlin.wordpress.com/2008/10/11/obama-born-in-kenya-new-information/) was indeed sponsored by Senator McCaskill and co-sponsored by Sen. Hillary Clinton [D, NY] Sen. Thomas Coburn [R, OK] Sen. Patrick Leahy [D, VT] Sen. Barack Obama [D, IL] Sen. Jim Webb [D, VA] via a web search that led me to this archive: http://www.opencongress.org/bill/110-sr511/show. The author of the exerpted article above makes several good points which as I said seem to have more ballast than those I have read. THis particular citation makes the point that it's possible these players made 'extra sure' that McCain once again be declared elligible even though there was no question about his elligibility - because they were laying the ground work to defend Obama's lack of citizenship. Interesting possibility. Hard to explain the effort of these sponsoring senators otherwise. PS: I originally found the the article cited above linked by African PRess International's website. African Press International (API) posted a related and well... bizarre article, well I thought it was wild, which alleges that Michelle Obama personally called API regarding the birth certificate. As of 8:04pm Pacific Time, the article is still up at API. If it is just false reporting - who is feeding such false reports to African Press International that they should find it credible enough to post? If it is real (if Michelle actually did call API), what made the campaign THAT uncomfortable? I tried searching freerepublic to avoid bombarding folks with redundant info but I didn't find any hits on this specific topic - lots of OBAMA but nothing on John McCain's citizenship having been afirmed via 2d Session S. RES. 511

Welcome to our conspiracy theory.

We’ve been worrying about this for months and are just attacked for being silly.

Lots of unanswered questions.

Maybe because he was born in Kenya? The idea isn’t so far-fetched anymore.

Here is the thread about Michelle calling the API:

Freepers debating whether it is fake or if there is audio tape of the call.

Why would HRC co-sponsor this if there was a hint that Barry-O had a “little administrative problem” like this?
