It sort of happened to me. Outside a Whole Foods market in Van Nuys. They wanted me to register, even though i was already registered. What is up with that?

I think they are doing it to overwhelm the system.

They get your information and maybe a signature then they can clone it, even change your registration, so that when you go to the poll you are not on the books or you find that you have already voted.

Most (all?) of them are paid by the number of names they bring in to register, not by the number of legitimate names.

They’re getting paid based on how many registration forms they turn in. Nobody at ACORN is checking whether they’re real before paying the troops. And why would anybody expect ACORN to check, since our local elections boards rarely do?
