(Vanity) McCain just surrendered tonight. Time to pick our favorites for 2012.

McCain just killed all the momentum and enthusiasm of the last week with this simple sentence in response to an angry attendee at a rally tonight:

“I have to tell you, he is a decent person, a person that you do not have to be scared [of] as president of the United States."

“No, ma’am. He is a decent family man, citizen"

I can’t believe that you would post such useless drivel here.

What do you expect McCain to say that he is a dangerous person and no one should trust himor let people decide for themselves?

Also it is being reported that the O is putting ringers at the Repub rallys yelling hang him, off with his head, and other such comments.

Please increase your meds.

The Problem is that if Obama wins the White House there won’t be an election in 2012.

Sufferin' cats john. So which is it? Is barack a decent guy that we can feel safe about or is he dangerous? You're saying he's both. Make up your frickin' mind.

If I’m too far off, please knock some sense into me, willya?
***You’re too far off. How would you like it?

McCain is just being McCain. His nature is to reach across the aisle. That will lose him this election. Like Thomas Jefferson, who was always at his best when he betrayed his own principles, McCain needs to step up & fight. There’s no tinfoil hat conspiracy to it, just human nature.

I wasn’t there but if it happens tomorrow when I see him in Davenport, I’ll be a better judge of what the he!! is going on. My take on it is that m,aybe he was trying to calm a very agitated crowd. Dunno.

Oh good Lord. He didn’t surrender. He’s being his “reach across the aisle” self. He isn’t trying to secure the base, it’s Palin’s job (as another FReeper pointed out). The old lady’s comment was ill-conceived and uninformed (though I think she was groping for “Muslim” rather than “Arab”).

His comment about not fearing President Obama was just dumb, but I don’t see “surrender” anywhere in there.

We knew a while ago that we’d have to drag Yosemite Sam’s corpse across the finish line come hell or high water. This is just more proof of that assertion.

I have faith that he said this in order to deflect the "has Jonh McCain gone too negative?" crowd.

I will say one thing, though: his commercials yesterday & today do NOT appear to support the idea that McCain believes him to be "decent".

Could be some evil genius going on? One has to hope.

But people have actually heard of Palin.

Not until the party lifted her up. They could have done the same for any Conservative at any time, and especially Hunter.

Yes there will. The GOP may even try to be conservatives again.

Sorry to say, but I think you are on the right track. I have a strong feeling we are all being betrayed, and have felt that way since the ‘bailout’ meeting. That meeting was not about the ‘bailout’ IMO, and now McCain is even vocalising out loud to his base that we should get ready for and accept a BO presidency. Something is definitely rotten here.

Exactly. I think that Palin is more than qualified. I don't want anyone who has been hanging around Washington on the ticket anymore. Hunter is just not shown any charisma, so it is hard for me to know why he is pushed so hard here.

I want someone on the ticket who could actually win.

No pissant is right. You stand on the fact that no one at your rallies are doing this.

McCain has allowed himself into being intimidated. Tells you what kind of POTUS he would be.

In the first debate between McCain and Obama it was like seeing a little league batter (obama) facing a major league pitcher (mcCain).

If that same debate had been between Hunter and Obama it would be like the pitcher walked off the mound, took the bat away from the little leaguer and beat him senseless with it.
