NLCS Game 2 on now from Philadelphia. Phillies are now at bat, bottom of the 4th. Phillies lead 8-5, after a 3-run homer from Manny Rameriez.
That homer just deflated me a little bit. This is going to be one loooooonnnngggg game. Go Phils.
When I think of the Phillies & Dodgers in playoff baseball I think of game 3 of the 1977 NLCS. Burt Hooten could not throw a strike and the Philly crowd was messing him up. But the dodgers pulled it out in the top of the 9th with three straight pinch-hitters each getting hits.

Well, the airman (woman) singing God Bless America was not half as talented as the singer last night. The crowd was clearly getting restless at her “less than stellar” performance. That said, even Philly won’t boo the song.
Manyy up first in the 9th (I hope). Just pitch to him.
I know we’re watching the game, enjoying a cold barley stew and what-not all but for the second consecutive night the concept of “live thread” seems to be falling short. :)
