Actually they do have an ulterior motive when they rub up against you. They're marking you with their scent.

I think this is backwards but I think it's funny

There is so much wrong with that I can’t even begin. Just to start by saying that cats tend to be more independent and care for themselves, therefore they are more “Republican”.
