9/8 - Heroes -- NBC
Tuesday:
9/8 - Fringe -- Fox
Wednesday:
8/7 - Knight Rider -- NBC
Thursday:
10/9 - Life on Mars -- ABC
Friday:
9/8 - Sanctuary -- SciFi
I taped it. Hopefully, I’ll get to watch it tomorrow.
It is different that is all I’m going to say..
Really liked Sanctuary. Kind of reminds me of Men in Black.
I thought Sanctuary felt a lot like a Hellboy rip-off (especially the girl in the tank), despite primarily being advertised as a Torchwood rip-off. It was decent, or at least better than anything else you’re going to find on cable on a Friday night and it contained a plot that you could follow. However, what the ‘forensic psychologist’ does, it’s pretty much nothing like what forensic psychologists actually do, but that made me laugh very hard so I didn’t mind as much.
Also, WTF was up with Amanda Tapping’s accent? It sounded like a cross between a bad English accent and a heavy Canadian accent. It annoyed me immensely.
yes, I was wondering about the accent thing too. Maybe it was because of her age and she’s been around.
So what is ‘Life on Mars’?
Fringe was great. Too bad we have to wait a week.
“Life on Mars” is about a cop that gets hit by a car and wakes up in the ‘70s. The British version was great, but only 12 episodes (2 seasons). It is basically a cop drama set in the ‘70s. I got a few good laughs out of seeing the politically correct future cop get verbally slapped around by the gritty cops of the ‘70s. Not really sci-fi, but very good.
I absolutely despised Sanctuary. Amanda's fake Brit accent is nauseating. The only redeeming quality of that show was the main antagonist, and he was only in a bit of the show. The whole premise is flawed, stupid, and way too politically correct for my taste. The whole "diversity" and "tolerance" thing is getting really, really old.
I gave Fringe a chance. Watched 3 episodes and gave up. Yuck. Total, complete rubbish. Oh, and it's BORING! 2001 - A Space Oddysey was an action-packed shoot-em-up comparatively.
Terminator continues to be the best "newer" sci-fi show on TV, imho.
I can just see one of the crew saying to Adama "The CO2 concentration is so high that the planet became uninhabitable". I am putting up a remote shield so I don't break my rather expensive tv when that happens...
