I was hoping someone would post a thread on this. I have to wait 3 hours over here on the west coast. How’s it going?

They hit Biden, but hammered Palin.

I made my pre-emptive prediction on another thread, can we get details of what they’re doing regarding Sarah?

I didn’t see the opening (will catch on Youtube later) but the skit just now absolutely laid low the characters that need to be laid low, Frank and Pelosi, while accurately characterizing Bush as disinterested go along. The truth is Bush gave in on the domestic to win votes for the wars we fought during his terms. But SNL nails it perfectly on the bailout news conference.

Just saw the opening skit. I don't know what you guys are talking about. I thought it was stupid. Not even funny. So far the only Tina Fey as Palin skit I thought was funny was the very first one (the Hillary Clinton/Palin press conference skit).

This was not even-handed at all. It was much harsher toward Palin than Biden or Ifill. They delight in tearing this woman down, and frankly, I find the whole thing ugly. Politics and the public sphere has sunk lower than ever.

I don't see why any woman would want to run for office -- certainly no conservative pro-life woman would want to. Only the most ruthlessly ambitious person with a near sociopathic lack of shame would want to put herself through the humiliation of being mocked relentlessly and having her private life dissected by the press.

I do have to say that the bailout SNL skit was funny. The yuppie speculators cracked me up (as well as the Soros character).

But I agree with Geraldine Ferraro, who told Brian Williams on Thursday that she would like it if SNL would lay off Palin for a change. Just leave the lady alone.
