My wife generally think comedies are stupid. But she wanted to see American Carol to support a rare Hollywood try at patriotism. I love comedies but thought the trailers looked more stupid than funny. The movie wasn't playing wide. But we went and it was worth it. The comedy was great. In the style of Airplane. In a slapstick way, it reminds you that we are at war with extremist nuts who want to kill us for our freedom and misguided idiots are helping the wrong side. It's a fresh take on Dickens tale. Go see it with a liberal.

I just got back from seeing this movie. I know that a lot of the “intellectuals” here will say that this wasn’t that good of a movie. I thought it was nothing short of brilliant. You’ve got to know something about politics or you won’t “get it.” I don’t see the average Kollege Kiddie “getting” this movie since they have no knowledge of American history or politics. I’ll be purchasing the DVD as soon as it’s released.

Hubby and I and our son saw it today. It’s worth seeing and has some really hilarious moments.

Hubby and I just saw it early evening. All seats sold out for this show, even in front rows!!!

This theater is in a "well-heeled," stylish outdoor mall area (AMC 20 Town Center).

Only real offensive part in my personal opinion (granted I've not seen many so-called "comedy" movies in past number of years, is that they do have children speaking foul language and playing handicapped children who get "dissed" by "Michael Malone" character.

Grammer is brilliant as Patton, Voight was truly a "life-like" Geo. Washington and Kevin Farley a truly disgusting "Michael Malone."

Whoever they used as their "Rosie" was as offensive and nuts as the real, offensive and disgusting nut, Rosie.

Just got back from watching it. It was very funny and has a very clear message about the damage idiot “liberals” have done to the nation.

That was Rosie O'Connell of course ;)

Just back from the theater. There was a pretty good crowd there and everyone seemed to enjoy the movie. Even my wife liked it, and she's not a fan of Airplane style humor. (The low part of the night happened just before the movie started — the preview to that POS “W”.) American Carol had some brilliant and funny scenes! Go see it!

I am a big IMDB fan (internet movie datavase). http://www.imdb.com

right now they have this movie rated at 3.8 out of 10. I think it is getting a reverse Freep. Now I wouldn’t want to encourage any people to vote on a movie they haven’t seen yet.

Let’s just say I voted early as if I lived in Ohio (and then later claimed to live in Michigan).

So if you have seen it go vote. If you haven’t at least try to be as accurate as Joe Biden in the debate.

You are right about that, my mom went to see it yesterday and told me that you have to be up on your politics to really understand the movie. She said, “Your father and brother would not understand this movie, because they don’t follow politics as much as we do.”

And after seeing it today, she was right!

Just got back from seeing An American Carol, it started off a little off, but quickly warmed up and was quite funny for most of the movie. The parts which were not funny were emotionally moving and poignant. This is a movie I will see again and again I think. I highly recommend this movie for any American. Also, perhaps it would be good for democrats to see it also, might be able to convert some to being American again.

I agree with you. Just saw it and thoroughly enjoyed it. Lots of laughs from the good-sized audience in this seaside California town. John Voight’s scene was very good and moving. I notice that they changed Gary Coleman’s line from the “Hey, Barack” as was originally reported - which would have been much funnier and braver!

I admit: I nearly blew out a rib laughing when the “Radical Christians” scenes came-on. Well done!

I'm trying to vote, but it keeps saying "Sorry, there was a problem collecting your vote. Please try again..." Do you have to register?

I’ll be purchasing the DVD as soon as it’s released.

Hopefully my local "AAFES" outlet will carry the DVD. They carried all of Michael Moore's garbage.

Yeah the previews to W was horrible, with all those subliminal flashes, like “Oil”, “Lies” ect. really had me riled. To make it worse, the theater I went to had a huge cut out poster board outside the door to the room the movie was shown in, so you had to face it when you left.

I loved the part with the ambushed raft in Cuba. “Hey, that man is going back to America!”

Yes, you do have to register.

I did register, and it then accepted my vote.

Registering is not a big problem. There was a link to do so at the bottom of the webpage.

Not an empty seat in the house tonight at the 7:40 pm showing Saw Mill 10 Multiplex theater in Westchester N.Y. right in Hillary’s back yard. I broke down during the scene when they opened the doors to Saint Pauls Church in Manhattan. If you liked the deserving mockery of buffoon terrorists you should check out Jeff Dunham’s video “Achmed the dead terrorist”.Google it out. “I Keel You!”

I’m glad to hear your Mall Movie was sold out. We live in the South Asheville area, and yes there are many libs-the ones I know are retirees who bring their liberalness with them to Asheville. Last night we went to see “An American Carol” which we enjoyed. The theatre on a Saturday night at 8:00pm was one third filled; there seemed to be a variety of ages and mostly couples. At the end of the film, there was clapping, softly done but extended , a very unusual thing to happen. It was great to see such a movie making fun of liberal think with concrete examples.
