HOWDY FREEPERS!!!!!

I may have addressed this subject in another Op-ed but I want to provide an update if I did.

As I'm sure everyone in Oklahoma is aware one of the most hotly contested races is the one for the U.S. Senate.

Jim Inhofe has served our state well for the last two decades and has broght Oklahoma values to Washington. He is currently being challenged by a career politician, from the big city, Andrew Rice.

Now, both Rice and I are life long residents of the state. The big difference however is that I was raised in a rural small community and Rice was born and raised in Oklahoma City.

Looking at his records and his history One notices that Rice's values are far more in line with those of San Fransisco and Massachusetts than with Oklahoma. He started a "progressive" political organization which came out against the traditional marraiage proposal which was supported by a majority of Oklahomans at the ballot box. He also voted against a "six strikes and you're out" proposal while he was in the Oklahoma Legislature.

And, he also was one of four legislatures to vote against a law which made false Amber Alerts a felony. When the Amber Plan was first implemented in Oklahoma there were a number of bogus alerts. Things like this undermine people's confidence in the Amber Plan which has saved numerous children's lives since it's implentation in the Dallas-Ft. Worth area of texas and other places. But, Rice decides that politics are more important to him than saving kids lives and keeping people safe from violent criminals.

Andrew Rice has also had associations with a far left website, the Daily Kos. This website has touted him. Clearly the Daily Kos is not a website which represents Oklahoma values.

Rice has made it a point to bitch and moan when these things are brought up about him. He can bitch and moan all he wants but whether he likes it or not as long as he is running for public office everything about him is fair game and he best learn to get used to it.

As someone who was born and raised here in Oklahoma, there have been numerous occasions when politicians have done things that make me wish I was born and raised in another state. People like Mike Turpin, Gene Stipe and David Walters come to mind.

I can tell you that if Andrew Rice wins this election, he I'm afraid will end up doing lots of bad things that will bring back this feeling not just in me but lots of other people who were born and raised in Oklahoma.

Andrew Rice is everything Oklahoma is not. He has been an embarrasment to the people in his legislative district. This is something Oklahoma doesn't need.

I hope everyone here in Oklahoma will remember all this when they go to the polls on November 4th. Oklahoma has done real well under Jim Inhofe. Please, let's not throw it all away.

And everywhere else around the country, make sure you go to the polls and vote on November 4th. There's way too much at stake not to do otherwise.

Good post. I am a firm Inhofe supporter and voter. I am still waiting for my Inhofe yard signs. I signed up for them several weeks ago, but I haven’t heard a thing about them yet.

The last I saw, Inhofe was polling in the high 60s, like 66%. Has that changed significantly?

I haven't checked the polls but I imagine he would still have a pretty sizeable lead.

So the title fits prefectly, Would I like some Rice with that? No Thanks. Hopefully this will be the voters response on November 4th.

I think I mispelled Rice in the thread title. We'll have to see if we can get that corrected.

I don’t know much about the house candidates from Australia, but Jim Inhofe I do know and greatly admire. He is the only one I know of who is taking a firm stand against the great global warming scam. I visit his website regularly. It would be a real shame if he lost his seat. He is exactly what is needed to shake some sense into them.

I really don’t think Rice has a chance to win, the majority where I live are all against him, Jim Inhofe has done a pretty good job for us, we don’t need this liberal jerk.
