So did mine..My mother spoke of the mules like loved pets..My dad used an old hand plow to plow his garden.

The whole ravine behind me is green..My pink dogwood is very colorful though.. We don't have best color until November with the red oaks..the rest of the deciduous trees may turn yellow or just fade and drop!

Grandpa only had to speak to a horse or mule and it would come to attention, follow him like a puppy.

I told hubby, he better be glad my “pets” only run to dogs! Altho, I did get Grandpa’s way with horses! Just can’t afford them!

We don’t have much color here, either, but I enjoy what we get. It’s not worth moving somehwere cold jsut to see the leaves change!
