It is my belief that Republicans in the House have committed a major blunder by voting against today's bailout plan. They have given the Democrats a very large club to batter them with over the next six weeks before the election as the stock market crashes and the economy goes into a tailspin. It is my fear that this will lead to a Democrat landslide in the House and Senate and may even cost John McCain the presidency as Democrats and their big media cohorts blame the Republicans for the crisis.
Republican Representatives should have heeded the words of their leadership under President George Bush and Senator John McCain instead of caving to pressure from their constituents on a subject they do not fully comprehend.Today is a perfect example why the Founders of this country instituted a representative democracy instead of a direct democracy.
The failure of Congress to pass this emergency plan will also be used by the Democrats to paint a picture of Senator McCain and the President as men who are incapable of providing the leadership required to pass even the most important of legislation.
There may not be any way to save the skin of Republicans in the House who are up for reelection, but if we act now and urge our Congressman to support comprehensive economic reform, we may be able to insure the election of John McCain. Anything less, and we could very well be witnessing an Obama presidency, something our country may never recover from.
God, save our country.
“To no ones surprise, my post went right over your head.”
Like Juan and the F(r)ageister , the McCainistas hate Conservatives...
If Morris said it thenit must be wrong. The time is coming when McCain can step in but the public has to be for it.
Horse hockey. States like Virginia allow you to vote in any primary, regardless of political affiliation. The only catch is that if you vote in the GOP primary, you may not vote in the Dem primary, and vice versa.
It's hard to tell who exactly was nominating who, here.
:D

Juan is the greatest insurance policy the Dems could ever have.
You can change “stabbing” to “pounding”.
Hard.
No lube.
BOHICA!

It’s your fault!
Markets are supposed to go up forever!

To suggest that the Government even has some semblance of control over the economy is sheer idiocy.
Government can stop business cycles like it can stop human nature: it can't. But, it can always make things worse.
A more GOP friendly bill will pass on Thursday probably brokered by the Senate GOP. McCain can get some credit for that.
Is it any mystery why Lindsey is a McCainista?
Love your tagline!
The RATS that voted no because they come from previously GOP districts will still vote no. I think that Pelosi has all the RAT votes she can get. The worse bill will get even less GOP support. The new bill must come the GOP way.
Ahh... Pragmatism rears it's grotesque head once again...
You don't do anything which will cause an economic meltdown six weeks before an election! Period. End of story.
Your position is silly and shortsighted.
Given that the next President is almost certainly going to be either Juan Bohica-McCain or THE ONE...
...the fact that the Market didn’t drop 10,000 points months ago counts as “irrational exuberance.”
Cue CCR: “Bad Moon Rising”
Unfortunately, the rest of the PEOPLE listen to the MSM. Since the MSM is full of liberal sycophants, the story line will be the Republicans caused this and the Stock Market losses that have and will continue to occur before the election.
McCain blew his chance at the Debate to attach Obama to this mess with his Fannie and Freddie associates. Now we are on defense, and we will continue to be until election day unless McCain brings a gun to this knife fight.
After McCain's pitiful statement today after the vote, I am rapidly losing faith in his ability to speak for me, my party and my beliefs.
Are you suggesting that his tasseled loafers may be a bit light? REALLY!?! I hadn't noticed! /sarc
I’m a bottom line kind of guy, and the bottom line is that the Democrats control the House. They did not need a single Repubican vote to pass their bill.
