No such thing as Karma. But it is good to see the “spike” Lee is worthless even to Hollywood.

There is still way too much money in our economy if Spike Lee and Oliver Stone can find continue to find investors for their flops.
To: Doug TX
Yes.
Roger Ebert is a HUGE (literally AND figuratively) far-left SHILL.
The more he “likes” a movie the less likely I am to go see it.

Tim Robbins The Lucky Ones:the first estimates are that it sold $118 worth of ticket per screen on its opening day. At $10 a ticket, thats 12 tickets per screen
Heh heh.

The sick thing is that Hollywood will continue funding these losers after batting 0 for 10 and losing millions for the studios.
These films will go straight to the Sundance Channel and fade off into obscurity.

FIREPROOF cost $500K to produce and took in $6.5 million.
Spike's disaster cost $45 million to produce and took in $3 million.
Hollywood rule of thumb is that a picture must do 250% of production cost just to break even. Spike has a long way to go.

You’re right, Hollywood will continue to fund these types of films. And the Hollywood crowd, rather than recogizing their mistakes will blame it on things such as; the bad economy where people can’t afford to go see movies, the average movie-goer isn’t sophisticated enough to “understand” their movie, they’re ahead of their time and the movies will end up being classics such as “Citizen Kane” ... etc.

Good to know that Spike “the IRS Cheat” Lee is continuing to lose money on his race-based films.
Maybe that’s why there isn’t any audience for them, Spike! People want to see a good story, not pay for a lecture from a racist about racism.
Speaking of Hollywood losers, whatever became of Michael “I’m fatter than Roseanne Arnold” Moore?

They must have hired Bialystock and Bloom.

Spike Lee’s films never have made money. Nor gotten awards. But, this might be one of those films that nobody ever saw and still gets a few nods this coming awards season. Can’t stand the racist.

Spike Lee is one of the most overrated directors in the history of filmmaking. Saying that Spike Lee is a great director is like saying that Jennifer Lopez (or Ben Affleck - take your pick) is a great actress.

$45 million minus $3 million is $42 million. That's a lot of take out food, wages, etc. So what we have is investors with too much good money and bad taste transferring their wealth to the working class.
Bad part is it's being done to dig holes and refill them in imitation of productive work.
Next time maybe the investors can just send checks to the working stiffs and we all can be spared the dozens of ads for “SPIKES LEE'S GREATEST, MONUMENTAL...” all day long.
not gonna happen...siiigh.

Lee's films are funded by studios who get their funding primarily from hedge funds which are now closing up shop.
DeutscheBank and Goldman have both shut down their film funds. That translates to significantly fewer films for the next few years.

I guess Spike isn't listening to Louis Farrrakhan these days.
Wouldn't it have been BETTER to open this on september 19TH?
