But it is not against the law to open carry at your home.

FL law says.......... 790.25

(3) LAWFUL USES.--The provisions of ss. 790.053 (OPEN CARRY) and 790.06 (CONCEALED CARRY) do not apply in the following instances, and, despite such sections, it is lawful for the following persons to own, possess, and lawfully use firearms and other weapons, ammunition, and supplies for lawful purposes:

(n) A person possessing arms at his or her home or place of business;

Thanks for noting that exception. I'm still not thrilled with the "for lawful purposes" language, when all someone has to do is say that you are menacing. Too bad the legislature didn't take the minute or two extra to simply place the exception "on your own property and at your place of business" directly in 790.053.
