And the all know it.
Dang! I didn’t even know Couric went that way.
OTT, but does anyone have a picture of Katie from a few years back in which she is wearing this gaudy multicolored dress more appropriate for a harlequin? Thanks.

CBS Edits Palin Response To Create Bad Impression Of Palin, Obama Compaign Edits Out Half A Sentence To Create A Lie

SJReidhead over at the Pink Flamingo notes why Sarah Palin came off so incoherent in those CBS News interviews with Katie Colic - Palins responses where edited to make her appear to stumble:
(2:58) Couric: What, specifically, in your view, could be done to convince the new government in Pakistan to take a harder, tougher line against terrorists in that country?
Palin: At a time when new leadership comes in, that is the opportunity to forge better, tighter, more productive relationships and thats what well take advantage of with new leadership in the US and in Pakistan. And Im sure that President Zardari, too, will agree with us as we commit to the support that Pakistan needs, that other nations in the region need, in order to win this war on terrorism. (3:32)
(5:39) Couric: But what lessons do you think you have learned as youve watched this unfold in terms of implementing the democracy and the challenges inherent in that goal?
Palin: Well, one is that America cannot be counted on to do this solely, to be the savior of every other nation, but we need friends and we need allies and we need this nation-building effort and we need to forge new alliances, and that is what a new election will provide opportunity to do.
And dolts like Kathleen Parker from NRO fell for the deception. Americans need to demand CBS offer the ENTIRE unedited interview on their website - now. We can then decide for ourselves what was important to hear from Sarah Palin.
This cutting and splicing and rewording the positions of those on the right by the left is becoming fairly rampant. I have found team Obama doing it before. But the worst example I have ever seen of outright lying by snipping words was this ad by the Obama campaign, caught by ABC News (which must be trying to salvage the dying field of journalism).
Heres the lie ABC News caught the Obama campaign making: [snip] Continue: http://strata-sphere.com/blog/index.php/archives/6110

Ms. Couric reminded the governor that she recently met with former Secretary of State Henry Kissinger, who supports direct diplomacy with both countries. Are you saying Henry Kissinger is naïve? Ms. Couric asked. Ms. Palin replied, Ive never heard Henry Kissinger say, Yeah, Ill meet with these leaders without preconditions being met.
After the Palin interview, Ms. Couric faced the camera and [lied] added a postscript. Incidentally, we confirmed Henry Kissingers position following our interview, she said, explaining that Mr. Kissinger supports talks without preconditions.
Last night, McCain was rubbing Obama’s naive nose in talking to Iran conditionally, and why you must have conditions. Obama countered with why he wouldn’t have conditions, and that even Kissinger agreed to talk with Iran without preconditions. McCain countered saying that he’s known Henry Kissenger for 35 years, and would never negotiate with Iran without certain conditions, and the same held true with China and other countries.
Kissinger Says Obama Wrong on Kissingers Position in Debate Tonight
Kissinger says Obama and Couric misrepresented and mischaracterized his position. (Couric deliberately lied, and so did Obama-as he’s been corrected on this before.)
Henry Kissinger believes Barack Obama misstated his views on diplomacy with US adversaries and is not happy about being mischaracterized. He says: “Senator McCain is right. I would not recommend the next President of the United States engage in talks with Iran at the Presidential level. My views on this issue are entirely compatible with the views of my friend Senator John McCain. We do not agree on everything, but we do agree that any negotiations with Iran must be geared to reality.”

Gibson Obama interview:
How does it feel to break a glass ceiling? How does it feel to win? How does your family feel about your winning breaking a glass ceiling? Who will be your VP? Should you choose Hillary Clinton as VP? Will you accept public finance? What issues is your campaign about? Will you visit Iraq? Will you debate McCain at a town hall? What did you think of your competitors [Clinton] speech?
Palin interview:
Do you have enough qualifications for the job youre seeking? Specifically have you visited foreign countries and met foreign leaders? Arent you conceited to be seeking this high level job? Questions about foreign policy -territorial integrity of Georgia -allowing Georgia and Ukraine to be members of NATO -NATO treaty -Iranian nuclear threat -what to do if Israel attacks Iran -Al Qaeda motivations -the Bush Doctrine -attacking terrorists harbored by Pakistan Is America fighting a holy war? [misquoted Palin] http://theanchoressonline.com/2008/09/12/side-by-side-gibson-questions-more/
I doubt Katie did any such thing.
okay seriously though, Palin has got to get better at these interviews. this is not going to end if she and Mac are elected and we can’t go around screaming the MSM is at fault.
I don’t know what the answer is however, besides a complete press ban until they learn to behave.
