McCain did well on the actual foreign policy stuff. He finished very strongly and I really liked his smooth familiarity with Afghanistan, Russia, Iraq, Gen. Petraeus.

One thing that grates - perhaps because I’m older than Obama - is his incessant focus on himself and the “advice” and “warnings” he says that he has been giving to people with years more knowledge and experience than he has on the subject.
It just serves to call attention to the fact that he is such a novice in a dangerous world with few leaders as young as he, or as inexperienced, imo.

I have been a Freeper since '97, and I am a hard core conservative.
My opinion is that Obama kicked McCain's butt tonight and it wasn't because Obama is right about anything. McCain just didn't do a good job.
He sounded like Leftist Light as opposed to a conservative.

Cindy McCain is the quintessential first lady. Michelle looks she should work at the DMV or fast food place.
Again, the last point ... Obama keeps pimping that Bush is stubborn and fixed in his ideas.
And McCain trumped Obama on that point, how Obama himself, in his stubborn and fixed ideas that we “failed”, the surge was the wrong idea, etc., that Obama himself is exactly what Obama pimps about Bush - stubborn and fixed in his ideas.
And that is the problem with Obama - it is McCain who is flexible and Obama, well Obama is “just like Bush” - stubborn and fixed in his ideas, and thus not ready to be President.

Normally they are very liberal. They are saying in pretty strong terms that McCain wiped the floor with Zero.
