No, the pistol is a recently liberated Soviet TT-33 in its issue Soviet holster. The rifle is an XM16E1 not to be confused with an M16A1.
That photo is my favorite because it was the only time in my long life my photo actually made it to the cover of a magazine, and, no, it wasn’t “The Rolling Stone.”
