The Hobbit Hole XXXVII - ...Down a thirsty throat and be glad indeed!

Posted on 09/25/2008 6:43:34 AM PDT by HairOfTheDog

Welcome to The Hobbit Hole!

Sing hey! for the bath at close of day
That washes the weary mud away!
A loon is he that will not sing:
O! Water Hot is anoble thing!

O! Sweet is the sound of falling rain.
and the brook that leaps from hill to plain;
but better than rain or rippling streams
is Water Hot that smokes and steams.

O! Water cold we may pour at need
down a thirsty throat and be glad indeed;
but better is Beer, if drink we lack,
and Water Hot poured down the back.

O! Water is fair that leaps on high
in a fountain white beneath the sky;
but never did fountain sound so sweet
as splashing Hot Water with my feet!

Make 0bama go away....

Think I'll have to put on a movie. Bleak House sounds like fun.

First the Cubs, then the Sox, if 0bama loses, Chicago will be 0-for-3.

When you put it that way, it doesn’t sound so bad.

yep...
Despite where I live, I will not be jumping on the Rays bandwagon. If I really wanted to be mean, I’d say it’s payback for last year’s ALCS.

I think I’ll be finishing up that bottle of turkey now.

That's the spirit. :-)

We have that effect on people. I can’t say yet whether it’s a good or bad thing.

McCain was hysterical at that charity thingie.

He needs to take that material on the road. It was good stuff. Did you see Obamalama? I only saw it with subtitles, and couldn’t tell if he got laughs. Some of it looked like it fell a little flat. But I dunno. Even he had a couple of reasonably good zingers.

An interesting event.

I think we were a bit premature. Tie game 7-7, Sox still at bat.

Make sure you catch him on Letterman as well. He was great.

I finally caught the replay of it on Fox this evening. It really was a dang funny event. Like I said... McCain really needs to use some of his material on the road.

...and I gotta admit... Barack’s stuff was pretty funny too. McCain was funnier, but the O did some funny stuff. Good self-depricating humor and took some shots at his own party too.

A good time was had by all.

Yeah, he was great. Don’t miss it. Or at least record it.

Sadly... I’m still in a hotel room this week. I’ll see if I can catch it later.

Flying home tomorrow.

Been up to my ears in SOX again this week. The outside auditors are having their way with us. But... so far, so good.

It’s better. I’m not necessarily sold on the green, but the font is better. The layout is improved - I like that the text centered and bigger, but I’m not sold on the green. If you had Joe the Plumber on one line, you wouldn’t need the quotes (but it would make the text smaller, so, there’s that), I think.
