Was watching a late night History Channel program about that shoot out at the OK Corral. Very good piece, looked very well researched. However, I just could not get some of their leftist bias (see linnk) out of my mind. Made me take the entire program with a grain, no a block, of salt.
Wonder if the people running these media outlets have any idea what they have done to their credibility? Comments?
Why would you waste time pointing that out? Who cares?
I’ve been involved in several History Channel shoots and they are, indeed, agenda-driven and left-leaning. We were involved in one production on the subject of dueling and the director didn’t seem to have any grasp of what the concept of “honor” really meant.
I watched their series on the Hindenburg, and they were spouting all this conspiracy nonsense instead of the simple “fire engulfed the blimp ergo, it crashed” explanation. Then they compared it to 9/11. That was the tipping point for me. I had to look at the TV Guide to find out if was watching the Sci Fi Channel or Comedy Channel.
>We were involved in one production on the subject of dueling and the director didnt seem to have any grasp of what the concept of honor really meant.<
I live in Hollywood, and one of my lib neighbors also couldn’t grasp the concept of “term limits”. It amazes me that they work for the CW network, yet ring my door bell when they couldn;t get their Tivo to properly record.
I saw it too and thought it had a left leaning sub plot.
LOL, why would you bother commenting on it? FYI, I wasn’t sure it would post without something in that field and didn’t feel like testing it. Gee, (don’t want a zot for a personal attack, so I’ll refrain).
Sorry! I didn’t see that you were responding to yourself. I thought the poster was being nitpicked by the anal FReeper police wannabes.
i just finished watching this and I don’t know where you are getting the idea about it being left leaning. I thought it was one of the better shows about the OK Corral.AWB
You know, I was going to rip you for that “First!” like comment, but then I read some of your posting history and decided not to do so. You actually have a lot of very intelligent and insightful posts. That’s why your post just baffles me: If my putting that comment in there (explained above) was inane, then you wasting time commenting on my inane comment was even more inane. On top of that, the thread generated some very interesting comments on the History Channel, including one from an apparent insider. Ergo, it wasn’t an inane post, but one which was interesting to at least one other person than me.
Just guessing you are violating the Iron Fist Rule (Google it with an “LGF” term added). Oh well.
I have the same feeling. Not all that History Channel and PBS present are true. Sometimes partly true but mostly lies. It’s Joe Goebbles’ doctrine.
Ah, now I get it. Working on a ####y internet connection, so I didn’t see this post until way after I tried to send mine (shows up above or below — I just can’t tell yet). Please ignore it.
Oh well, those are the things that happen with posting lag.
PS Iron Fist Rule is “’If you think you are too drunk to post, you are too drunk to post.’ A word to the wise to prevent unnecessarily antagonistic or rambling comments.” Often applies at 4:02am EDT. Sorry to imply that’s what was happening...
That was my point: It seemed good, but I’ve seen so much left-leaning garbage from them that I just couldn’t accept the program at face value. I’m wondering “what did they spin here that I’m just not catching?” Hence my comment about if they understand what they have done to their reputation — even a good program has been tainted by it.
