What if? re >Beware Obama-loss outrage<

What if there is riots if Obama losses the election. If you live somewhere where you think there possibly will be riots, I'd like to ask you a question.

Do you know how many yards it is from your porch to the corner of the building down the street? What about to the far side of that intersection? From your upstairs window to the top of the apartment, the big one in the middle of the next block?

NOW is the time to learn those yardages! Not when you are underfire from a bunch of liquered up fools who know that they have been robbed by our election system.

So, if you intend on staying and fighting for that insured piece of real estate, that's your option. But for Pete's sake get yourself prepared beyond polishing your ammo and wiping off the scope lens with a Wipe 'N Clear. Determine their most obvious routes of attack, their availability of cover, their tools of combat beyond firearms such as dogs and molotov cocktails, etc.

How would you attack your position? Study these questions and that'll give you a better insight as to whether or not you can defend it.

It’s always a good idea to be prepared, and having tactical knowledge of your surroundings is good preparation.

But I think taking long-range shots at rioters would be defined by most jurisdictions as murder. You’d be hard pressed to say that you were in immediate fear of grave bodily harm from a group 100+ yards away. Even shooting to prevent some other crime at that range is hard to justify.

I can think of two possible exceptions: first, if you witness someone else being attacked at that range. But you’d better be darn sure you can hit your target, and only your target, and that there’s nothing behind your target. The only other possibility I see is some kind of coordinated attack on your home/place of business from a gang that’s also equipped with long guns. But I doubt any post-Obama rioters would be organized, trained, equipped, or interested in that kind of military-like attack.

Do you know what ranges they were at? I’ve always heard this story but I’ve never seen an in-depth accounting that describes exactly what the merchants did.

I am in a suburban neighborhood with an SKS, a 20 shot clip, and 1000 rounds. I live two miles from a rifle firing range, if that matters.

I seriously doubt I will need it, but if so, I will consider it very much a “second amendment” moment. I will consider myself a state militia volunteer.

Let me get this straight (doing my best Columbo impression) if Obama loses his black supporters might riot and that makes white voters racist?

>>Even shooting to prevent some other crime at that range is hard to justify.<<

Unless it is obvious civil unrest we are talking about here. Then it is sort of a “state militia” sort of thing.

Picking off a couple of mean looking guys at range would be different of course.

.22LR rounds are deadly out to a mile and a half.

At the proper angle, I’m sure a 9mm or .45ACP round has plenty of punch to cover 100 yards.

If it really were a civil unrest thing, the good news is most in the crowd would be cowards. Taking one down at range would cause the rest to scatter probably. If there is more than one of you at the shooting end it may be the only shot needed to snap some sense into everyone.

Yes, I agree that it would probably be defined as murder. If your actions resulted in the retreat and thereby the saving of lives and millions of dollars of property I think it would be awful hard to find a jury that would convict you of murder.

I am saying this thinking that there is no local police who will respond to your 911 calls and there has been at least 30 minutes of behavior showing the intent of the rioters to loot and torch everything in their path. (similar to the Watts riots)

Even the police don’t come back here in my neck of the woods without a darn good reason!

There aren’t any libtards with guts enough to venture into redneck country!

If there were, we’d soon educate them!

We’re armed and we’re not going anywhere, no matter what.

*My* only big concern would be that some meddling gubmint alphabet agency might “remove us from our property for our own good” in the event of some kind of insurrection.

I’d start with a .50 BMG Barrett Model 95 or equivalent..

50BMG is suitible for HTI, but in an urban environment with shots less than 800 yards on lighty covered targets a bolt-gun in 308Win is good enough.

For rioters who are within 200 yards (in California) I'd keep an SKS handy with lots of loaded stripper clips, or a Ruger Mini-14/30 with many aftermarket 10-round mags.

“Even the police don’t come back here in my neck of the woods without a darn good reason!”

Same here.

I’d be dead and stiff before anyone could respond to a 911 call.
