Some many not know that we call "moose" in this country (USA) are known as "elg" in Sweden. (And vice versa).

Don't recall how the confusion originally came about.Jeff Cooper talks about it in his book "To Ride, Shoot Straight and Speak the Truth".

Some many not know that we call "moose" in this country (USA) are known as "elg" in Sweden. (And vice versa).

As I understand it the European Elk is related to our Moose. The European Red Deer is related to our Elk (Wapiti). The European Fallow Deer (what Robin Hood hunted) is related to our White Tailed Deer.
