I'll tell you what I do when it gets really bad: I drink a beer. It doesn't even have to be “real” beer. Non-alcoholic beer will do. Some days, it's the only thing that will allow me to eat.

Hm. LoM complained last night there wasn’t a beer in the fridge. (Not my fault!). I’ll have to send her out for some, along with some more cough syrup. *\;-)
