I found this by accident and just showed four people who all freaked out a little. Sadly this comes to us through Chris Matthews's show, but I do shockingly for once agree with him: McCain can act! I was duly creeped out. I had to watch it all four times to even believe it was really John McCain and not an SNL guy pretending to be John McCain.
It's two minutes; watch it.

And .. anybody who thinks it is has blinders on. But I’m not shocked to see Chris Matthews trying to make such a comparison.
While the voice may sound somewhat like McCain - McCain had already had surgery on his cancer by then .. and his left cheek has always been slightly larger than his right.
Also .. McCain can’t speak in such a flowing style .. IT CAN’T POSSIBLY BE McCAIN.

It really is him. Listen to the voice. And he DOES have that cheek. You can see it in the shower scene.

McCain also did “McCain Sings Streisand” on SNL. A rife on her trying to talk politics ... then politicians singing.

Creepy, I kinda feel like that wife does about McCain. Course he isn’t nearly as freaky as the stepford voters.
He did do a great job.

That episode that he hosted is actually damn funny - something rare for SNL. I disagree with him on a lot of things but I appreciate that he has a great sense of humor (and great taste in VPs!)

Given his extended stay as a POW in Vietnam, I would imagine he had to develop some acting skills just to survive the ordeal.
Who cares what Chrissy was trying to make of it? It is just weird.
Kind of impressed that McCain can act so well because he really creeped me out.
