I just don’t understand why they continue to subject themselves to these hostile media venues. They KNOW they aren’t going to get a fair shake, that they’ll be set up to appear foolish and stupid, that they’ll be poorly edited.

He was interviewed by the Vietcong for 6 years. I think he can handle Whoopi Goldberg.
McCain shored up his base at the convention and now it's all about the women and moderates. Barry is still trying to shore up his base.

Question Liberal Authority
(Jesse Jackson talks about neutering Obama, but Sarah Palin actually delivers.)

The only thing I can think of is that this is in keeping with John McCain's personality. He does not run or hide from anyone. Besides, all this will do is speak to the left's base and anger most everyone else (including independents). So far, the left and the media have done more harm than good to Obama's campaign the last couple of weeks.

I just dont understand why they continue to subject themselves to these hostile media venues. They probably figure that there's no votes in that audience to lose, and they might be able to pick up one or two.

Because Schmidt knows that the bias will work in the favor of them. The general public at large has a way of rooting for the underdog, the whip cream is the fact that a majority of the public knows that the media is in the tank and sucks so they’ll get their chance to “fight back” by voting for McCain/Palin and the cherry on top is Biden, who seems stuck in the Rovian3000 gaffe-a-minute generator.
