I have heard from some people in the know that McCain Palin will come this way at some point (probably make a stop in Abingdon). That is totally unsubstantiated at this point, but I agree with you. They would do well do drop in and say “hi” before election day.

Christiansburg would be a better Republican stronghold in which to speak.

That would be a good choice. He should hit two or three places while coming through here. Abington would be good, and Christiansburg would be another good stop for SW VA. Presidential candidates normally go to Roanoke anyway, so that's a given. If VA stays as close as it is, both candidates will probably be all over the state multiple times. One thing is certain, the local TV and radio stations are about to see a record cash flow during the next two months.
