The event was spectacular!

Thousands and thousands of people showed up, and the enthusiasm and energy was a sight to see!

McCain sounded reinvigorated and Palin was magnificent.

Special Guest, Fred Thomspon gave a great speech as well, and introduced the Presidential and Vice Presidential nominees. The folks were charged up and Van Dyke Park (Fairfax City) was absolutely ROCKIN'!!!

I'll be putting pics up on my blog shortly. http://mccainpalinvictory08.blogspot.com/

** Like I've said before, this election shouldn't even be close!!!

I know someone who was there and estimated it at 30,000. Does that seem about right?

Rush said the Fairfax County school board tried to stop this rally from happening by claiming it was improper use of the school.

Anybody in Tidewater got any inside info on the scheduled appearance for Sarah Palin on Thursday 9-18? All they’ve said is that she’ll be in VA Beach as far as I know.

I just talked to three kids who were there — one in his twenties, two (boy and girl) in they teens. They were all blown away by Sarah! The lady is a champ. Now, if only the GOPers (”expert” political advisors) would just stop making her give the same speech. Let Sarah be Sarah!

That's funny. Bambi was there a couple of weeks ago and today he's in Norfolk at Granby High School.

Oh well...our High Schools aren't big enough to contain all the excitement and enthusiasm McCain and Palin are generating.

anyone who loves America is not allowed to speak on school grounds, it's in the union bylaws..
I'm glad it happened because it generated enough PR to swell the audience. Too bad it will never be on TV, but we'll hear that Sarah Palin once looked crooked at a girl in elementary school.

Best political event I have ever been to. My daughter loved it. We managed to get about 10 standing rows back from the front, and had a great time.

We both love Fred Thompson, so that was a real thrill watching him walk down the hill and then onto the stage (well, we couldn’t quite seem him walk on the stage since there were too many signs in the air.

There were tons of people. The line to get in just kept going, I had to walk the whole thing to get to the end. The security folks were great and really moved us through.

Of course, I was in the line with the guy who brought the knife, and then wanted to argue that he should be allowed to take it with him. A security guy finally looked over and said “do you really have a problem with our no-weapons policy?”

I was streaming the speech and actually stopped watching it because I’d heard it all before. I’m sure she added some new details in there, but it’s really just the same speech she has been giving since she joined the ticket.

But, I don’t know anything really. I’ve never paid much attention to rally speeches in the past so they may all do that.

I heard Palin was going to be in VA Beach the 18th. I have not heard where in VA Beach or what time.

"Let sarah be Sarah"

Couldn't agree more. Turn her loose and don't stifle her with old GOP mantras.

That's what my view was. A lot of tall people around me. We had our Red homemade McCain/Palin T-shirts.

They all do that. The VP candidate just warms up the crowd for the P. In this case, though, the VP candidate is carrying the top of the ticket. People are paying attention to her and not him. It’s more important what she says. Everyone knows McCain. She’s the draw. She’s the focus of enthusiasm and energy.
