I find it hard to believe that he had never heard of the Trilateral Commission, and especially the CFR. They both have been widely publicized for over thirty years.

Not really. I met Tom after he wrote his article for SOF in 1993 about the war in Bosnia. He was pretty much an old soldier who had missed action and went to fight. He was not at all political and only after the CW2 book can out did he start to even seem political. He is many things but not a liar.
I am sure he is telling the truth about learing about all those groups.
I myself could not tell you all the New World Order non-sense nor can I explain most of what a lot of people seem to take as the truth on those matters.
