NASHVILLE, Tenn. -- Vince Young is awaiting results of an MRI exam on his sprained left knee Tuesday, hours after the Tennessee Titans sought police help in finding the quarterback the team described as "emotionally down."
Young's agent said Tuesday afternoon there was no need for concern because the quarterback was at a friend's house watching football and eating chicken wings.
"When people were worried about him, I was on the phone talking to him," agent Major Adams said. "I didn't know there was any confusion about where he was as if he was missing or whatever. He just said, 'Hey, I'm over here watching the game.' ... Then I start getting all these frantic calls."
Adams spoke while on his way to learn the test results on Young's knee.
Young left his home around 7 p.m. Monday without a phone, prompting the Titans to call Nashville police for help. The team got a message to Young through a friend, and the quarterback met with coach Jeff Fisher and police at team headquarters around 11:30 p.m. Police spokesman Don Aaron said Young drove himself home about 30 minutes later.

This isn’t the same Vince Young that lead Texas to the National Championship. Don’t know what the hell happened to him. Drugs?
Don’t know. Lots of rumors and such on various football boards but I can’t put much stock in any of that at this point. It’s hard to say. I do think the Titans are far better off with KC at the helm—dare I day, even a contenda.
Nope. It was the Madden curse ....
Turns out he was distraught.... Vince had picked Brady first on his fantasy team.
You Tennessee fan need to realize who won the game Sunday and who almost got ya’ll into the playoffs last year.
If you want VY to be the player he was in college, show him the same kind of respect and support he got at UT.
As long as he wasn’t fighting pit bulls,... okay!
If he wants the same respect and support he needs to show the same kind of success. There’s nothing wrong with booing guys that are playing crappy. You pays your money to cheer or boo as appropriate.
And Young is acting goofy. Talking about retiring after his rookie year, refusing to come back out for no discernible reason. I can see why the coaches want to keep close tabs on him.
Something similar happened with Terence Newman. He grew in small town Kansas and went to K-State where he was just plain faster than everyone he played against. Then he goes to the NFL and gets burned his rookie year. It took about a year an a half for him to realize he wasnt faster than everyone, and how to adjust to it.
Vince just needs time to adjust. Plus, ESPN was really pushing this story, so I instantly thought it wasn't as bad as thought.
Tenn fan? Me? Ha! I’m the number one Cowboys homer round these parts and have been since the dawn of time. I’m not really certain there are any Titans fans on FR. Anyway I just follow the VY saga because he’s from Texas and I enjoy a good train wreck.
My theory on Vince is that he’s unaccustomed to adversity and doesn’t cope well with it. He’s been coddled his whole life and his struggling with how to adapt to multiple challenges. So he will either learn how to endure/overcome significant obstacles, maybe tune some technical approaches to his game, or he will simply fail to thrive in his career. And then it’s off to Canada with him.
Re: “If you want VY to be the player he was in college, show him the same kind of respect and support he got at UT.”
Read that Mac Brown pared down the playbook at tu and V.Y. thrived... don’t know if that’s something Fisher has/will look at going forward.
No need to be ugly. (my Dad is a TAMU grad)
You could have something there. VJ’s last season at UT was the last time we beat ya’ll. LOL!
He can make a lot of plays wit dim feet.
“I can see why the coaches want to keep close tabs on him.”
You mean other the fact they have millions invested in his ass?
Give him a chance!
I think the fans in Nashville want a championship real bad. Booing VY will only lessen those chance.
If they allow him to grow, (he’s only 23) I think they’ll be happy.
And get a team around him ... get him some blocking and some receivers.
He’s getting a chance. He’s not been kicked off the team or anything.
But reality is reality, and reality is that on the field he’s alternated between brilliant and crap, and off the field he’s been a bit weird since last season ended.
Vince Young is NOT a good NFL QB, period, nor will he ever be. Whatever he did in college means nothing now. Fact is, the Titans are a pretty good team being held hostage by Vince Young’s fragile ego. Personally I think the mobile QB experiment is over. Some guys are born to be QB’s and some are not, that’s just how it is. Just because you run a 4.4 forty and can throw the ball 80 yards in the air doesn’t mean you’re going to equal spit in the NFL.
