That has brought the feelings of deep grief that I had that day. My television was off that morning when I got a call from my son to turn it on. My daughter was working in the North Tower and there is no way to describe my horror at turning on the television and knowing that my daughter was in that building.
Her lasting memory of that day was the firefighters going up the stairs as she was coming down.
It wasn’t until 11:30 that I finally got the word that she was out, but that grief extended to the families that searched for days for their loved ones. Then it extended to the families of those around me in NJ that lost loved ones in the towers.
Soon our nephew joined the army and served in Baghdad and later Afghanistan.
How in the world could the Democrats not recognized 9/11 at their convention? I pray that we never have to experience that horror again, and if they can’t even recognize the possibility they shouldn’t even be in office.
