I remember that day - I was at work transfixed to Free Republic (not ATRW - but the main 9-11 threads)
I was still tongue-tied on FR on this day in 2001. Had lurked for two years before signing up, even.
Anyway.....
Know I’ve related this before, but my day started out in a rather euphoric way. President Bush was staying on Longboat Key the night of the 10th. His motorcade passed by the end of my street on Gulf of Mexico Drive the evening of the 10th and the morning of the 11th, when he was on his way to the school in Sarasota. GMD is a small two laner with a 45mph speed limit.
He looked me in the eye with a smile and waved back both times as he passed. I was so excited.
Not too much time passed after that when the first plane hit.......and then the second.......
My prayers go out in earnest for the families and loved ones of those who lost their lives that day.
