I sat rather slack-jawed wondering what this amateurish crapola was on the telly.

I heard the team that thought up Vista also made this commercial.
There is one good thing out of this. Someone is going to take that small little clip where Gates wiggles his underwear out of his butt and make a “Dancing Bill” for us internet junkies. /s

The only part which came close to being almost funny was the shoe club card with Bill Gates old picture on it.
It's a commercial about nothing.

Never have found anything by Seinfeld funny. I couldn’t even watch the entire video because it is so boring.

How much did seinfeld make for a few hours’ work?

My first thought was, "Why in the world did Microsoft, one of the world's best marketed software companies, hire the people who did the marketing for Novell? Are they trying to commit suicide?"

It was so bad I don’t even dare use the Seinfeld ping list.

My brother and I were watching football when this commercial appeared. I had not seen it before, but my brother had. He, being as opinionated as I, said something to the effect of "WTF is this commercial?"
After it was over, I had to agree. "Conquistador"? WTF? (I thought that was a Procol Harum song!)
And what about the length of the commercial? It was interminable! It was like listening to Obama answer a question without a teleprompter or Joe Biden answering any question!
As an American, I applaud the fact that Bill Gates has created jobs and made many people millionaires - how he did it is a subject for debate on another thread. Nevertheless, he is an American success story. However...
Memo to Bill Gates: never, ever again appear in a commercial for Microsoft. If you do, you might want to spend some of your billions on acting lessons.

The ad is beyond bad. It makes no sense.
To: Rebelbase
I thought people were just being unkind, but I have to agree with the consensus. That was the single worst commercial I've ever seen in my entire life.
The only way it even makes sense to make the commercial is if it's some sort of money laundering scheme.
