Beautiful dogs, and dumb as a sack of hammers. You're half right. I've had several labs. Got one right now. They're smart dogs and rank high on the dog intelligence list.
But they will chew on and swallow just about anything. Beer cans, bricks, wood, shop rags, razor blades, etc.

Not so sure about the dumb bit, when I’ve been out with my lab and he been in the sea or a loch and we stop off at the pub for him to dry off he always gets served first. It’s like Cheers everybody know his name and I’m just the guy with Murphy.
