I remember something almost exactly like this before the 2000 election:

According to the law put into effect just last year, the President has the power to declare martial law for any emergency that he feels is a threat to the nation, and if this happens close to election time, the election will be canceled or postponed and the current president will stay in power. The Constitution will also be suspended. This is all going to happen this September or shortly thereafter.

EXACTLY! A nearly identical email was circulating from the tin-foil crowd in 2000 just prior to the election. But the old adage - a stopped clock is right twice a day... If this email makes its rounds every couple of years, eventually it will hit on it really happening - because the scenario painted is quite possible under the right circumstances.

But again - a repeat (and repost) of this old chestnut of an email... please. The economy is tanking. And Obama is a power-hungry Socialist... If he becomes our official dictator in charge... well, it isn't because this email was “correct”...
