I’m not looking back far enough because I am comparing treatment of Palin to anyone who gave a speech at the RAT convention last week. Don’t remember all the discussion about who wrote the speech. Considering what I just read about her winging the last half of her speech, due to teleprompter issues, I think she should be given even more praise than she is currently getting.

Yeah, I wasn't hammering you about the going back far enough. I pointed it out because of how striking it was last night when the "she didn't write it" talking points were spouted. We certainly know who writes every one of these speeches, but it's usually brought up by someone like Brit Hume in what is a very nice and gracious acknowledgment of the speechwriters when otherwise they'd be anonymous. Brit will say something like, "Fine job done by the writer, Matt Scully," and everyone will nod and you might hear a "Yes, he's a good one."

Not last night. When I heard Kondracke and Easton on Fox immediately launch into the speechwriter rant, I started wondering where I parked the DeLorean. (Interestingly it was Brit who smacked them both across the mouth that all these speeches are written by someone else.)
