hello, I am trying to identify a novel: a pilot learns he will not be able to pass his physical to get his license renewed, so he decides to take a small plane up one last time and crash into a mountain. A lady realizes what he intends and insists on going with him (to talk him out of it). Sorry I dont have more to go on, but the person believes it is Christian fiction.
Must. Not. Post. Smartaleck. Fake. Title.
Must not. . .
;-)
(Sorry for not being helpful, but at least this bumped it.)
I can’t help you, but BUMP!
www.cbd.com also has a search engine which might help. Or you could call your local Christian book store. Good luck!
I may be mistaken but I think there was a similar plot in the Chasing Eden series of books. The bit about a small plane and someone who had lost his family rings a bell.
Aw, go ahead.
I can’t be positive, but this seems close...

Sorry, but MeanWestTexan planted the idea in my head.
Bump. (just a convenient excuse)
Twinkie
Hello -
I have a book called Earth Angel by Tom McCann. It’s very short about a P51 pilot that received an eye injury on the flightline and subsequently, no flying. ~~~spoiler: Many years later he is joined by a WASP and another man. They take the ‘bird across the country in search of an engine. He ultimately does get to fly. It ends up being very spiritual.
Probably not the one your after, but an interesting read.
Take care.

thank you, I’m thinking this could be it, although my friend says the pilot’s name may have been John, but her memory is a bit fuzzy :)
