There was a time I listened to Dr. Laura, but her judgmental rants against working moms is a real turn off to me.
Has she ever ranted about working fathers? Like Obama, Like Biden, Like McCain. Let me quess—no. She is working. How dare her?
That’s the same rant she’s doing on Palin:
“Im stunned - couldnt the Republican Party find one competent female with adult children to run for Vice President with McCain? I realize his advisors probably didnt want a mature woman, as the Democrats keep harping on his age. But really, what kind of role model is a woman whose fifth child was recently born with a serious issue, Down Syndrome, and then goes back to the job of Governor within days of the birth?”
I think this is an interesting situation for discussion.
Leaving aside emotion here for a minute, and the particular issue of Palin personally, how is she being judgmental? I mean in a pejorative sense? The first definition of the word judgmental is “of, relating to, or involving judgment”.
What I see, right or wrong (and I believe mostly right), is a person who has a principled, defensible position, and is maintaining consistency - in much the same way Sarah Palin did when she had Trig.
Now, if the husband is going to quit his job during their term in office to care for the young children that changes things entirely, but otherwise I am not sure I disagree completely with Dr. Laura.
