I am sorry. I will say a prayer for you. They did put something on my husband’s DAC report that has basically blackballed him from the industry.
“No, what’s worse is being discharged after 35 years of employment with the reason being “Unsatisfactory job performance over the past couple weeks”. This being 16 days prior to your permanent layoff date as stated in the WARNA notice you received 6 weeks prior as a result of your plant closing.......
Thats one of the downsides of working in an “At Will” state........”
You should be researching on the internet, if not already, you may have some employee rights that are being violated. Most states are “at will”, unfortunately. We had almost $100,000.00 invested when they pulled the plug, so to speak. Plus no one will hire my husband. He’s got a good safety record and he wasn’t terminated for anything to do with his work performance. They terminated his contract because he “took it public” (i.e. called 911).
In terminating me they were able to save 8 months of partial salary but had to pay 4 months up front. That actually helped my pension which I commenced 1 year later.
While that first year of no job was tough mentally, once I started my pension I said screw the job search and decided to enjoy being retired. Which I do, immensely.........I'm having more fun "playing" than when I was a kid. Softball 4 mornings a week with other "seniors", trips to the gym, not having to fight 45 minutes of bumper to bumper drive times.......
Work is over rated and I don't miss it one bit.......
Thank you for your prayers.
