I was extremely proud, but not necessarily because McCain nominated a woman. Proud because we were given a glimpse of the future of the GOP. Proud because I now have a reason to vote for a McCain ticket. And proud it completely derailed the Obama camp.
The fact that she's a staunch conservative, tomboy, devoted mother of five, Christian, pro-lifer, conservationist who puts country first... well, that had something to do with it too. :)

(Palin 2012 for President!)

Don’t know how indicative this is of non political people but I got email from my cousin, who is 62 and ready to retire. She did not like Obama and was leaning McCain anyway but now says she is enthusiastic and very excited about voting GOP thanks to Palin! Hopefully she is representative of a lot of women. If only a small number of uncommitted independent types vote McCain/Palin now, it could make a difference.

Knowing your previous position on McCain, I was wondering if this move made a difference to you.
It certainly gave me a charge.

As I told my husband...the Palin nomination is twice as exciting because I feel like McCain nominated me! Finally I feel a kinship to a woman in politics!
