I never heard that before. Why the distinction? What difference does it make, if any?

I googled both up and it appears that Down Syndrome is an extra chromosome and Turner Syndrome is missing a part of the X chromosome.

Nothing I read indicated that they were comparable conditions based on gender or that Down syndrome only affected boys, though.

I’m curious where you heard that.
